Roxy’s Cocina y Café was born from a powerful blend of memory, migration, and mission. Founded by Linnet Caban, a proud Nuyorican woman, this café stands as what may be the first Puerto Rican coffee club and cultural café in Memphis—a soulful space where café con leche meets community resilience.

Named in honor of Linnet’s late mother, Roxana, Roxy’s is more than a business—it’s a tribute to generations of Puerto Rican women whose kitchens were the first classrooms, healing spaces, and cultural sanctuaries. From Brooklyn, NY to the campos of Puerto Rico and now to the heart of the South, Roxy’s carries those flavors, rhythms, and stories in every pastelillo and every cup of café.

Linnet, a seasoned consultant and community healer, Elder Ifa High Priest, didn’t just want to serve food—she wanted to serve memory. At Roxy’s, the coffee is sourced with integrity, often from smallholder farms in Puerto Rico and other Afro-Caribbean regions. The menu centers on traditional Boricua flavors with a modern twist, paired with community events, storytelling nights, and pop-ups that celebrate diasporic identity. We look forward to making this a monthly event until we get our own brick in mortar here in Memphis.

In a city known for its deep musical and cultural roots, Roxy’s adds a new rhythm—one that honors Afro-Boricua legacy while building economic power through cultural pride. It’s a place for elders to sip and speak, for artists to share their voice, and for Memphis locals to experience Puerto Rican hospitality for perhaps the first time. I feed you with love y sabor!

The event is finished.
