Prison Buddies Closing Reception
Join us for a closing reception of Mark Loughney’s powerful “Prison Buddies” exhibition at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library’s Goodwyn Gallery to experience the work of this extraordinary artist.
Mark Loughney, a Philadelphia-based draftsman and painter, began his series of unconventional drawings during late-night hours in a prison cell. These spontaneous creations, born from challenging circumstances, continue to shape his compelling artwork. Loughney’s journey from incarceration to national recognition underscores the authenticity and impact of his work, blending levity with profound social commentary.
