Now in its 28th season, Peanut Butter & Jam introduces children ages 8 and under to a variety of genres including music, dance, and multicultural arts in an informal concert setting.  Parents and children are invited to move and groove in these highly interactive performances held on scheduled Saturdays in the Watkins Studio Theater or Duncan-Williams Performance Hall.
Journey to Africa with Memphis musician and performer Ekpe. With African drums, flutes, bells, shakeres (gourd rattles), and kalimbas (thumb pianos), this program is a crowd-pleaser from the first drumbeat to the last handclap. The performance will introduce children to African arts, history, and culture while enthusiastically weaving in mathematics, science, language arts, creative thinking, and cooperative learning of African civilizations. This is an excellent whole-language presentation suitable for all ages
