On Stage with Iris Collective: Awadagin Pratt

GPAC and Iris Collective present concerts of iconic chamber music works in an intimate, cabaret-style setting on the stage in the Highland Capital Performance Hall!

Nationally acclaimed pianist Awadagin Pratt returns to Iris for a personal evening of solo and chamber music after his Grammy-Award winning recording and performance of “Rounds” by Jessie Montgomery. Through his kaleidoscopic career as a pianist, conductor, educator, and curator of memorable musical moments, Awadagin Pratt shines a light on voices of the past and present, amplifies the diverse talents of today’s brightest creative minds, and paves the way for a new generation of inventive musical artists. The evening will feature solo works by François Couperin titled Pièces de clavecin as well as the ebullient 25 Variations & Fugue on a Theme of Handel in B-Flat Major by Johannes Brahms. The program culminates in a performance of Schubert’s masterpiece, Piano Quintet in A Major “The Trout” with members of the Iris Collective.

Proudly brought to you by Lane Music, Dr. & Mrs. John Adams, Rick & Jill Broer, and Meryl Shahun Rosen.
