On Friday, June 10 from 6-8PM, the Rendezvous will welcome ESPN senior writer and New York Times bestselling author Wright Thompson (Pappyland, The Cost of These Dreams) for an evening of BBQ, brews, and books in partnership with Novel. Thompson’s latest book, Pappyland, is the story of how Julian Van Winkle III, the caretaker of the most coveted cult Kentucky Bourbon whiskey in the world, fought to protect his family’s heritage and preserve the taste of his forebears, in a world where authenticity, like his product, is in very short supply.
Thompson will be joined in conversation by Rendezvous co-owner John Vergos, who knows a thing or two himself about cultivating a cherished, long-standing family business.
Tickets are $45 and include draft beer/soft drinks, cheese and sausage, ribs, shoulder, chicken, beans and slaw, tax and tip (vegetarian options will be available.)
Wine will be available by cash bar.
