A woman with long brown hair and blue eyes smiles at the camera indoors, wearing a blue and white striped shirt, ready for a Munch and Learn session at one of her favorite museums.

Munch and Learn: Why I Love Museums (and Why You Should Love Them Too)

Dorothy Svgdik (she/her) is the Membership Manager at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens. She’s trained in history (B.A. Rhodes College) and Museology (M.A. University of Washington, Seattle), specializing in Museum Evaluation. She has worked in a variety of arts and cultural organizations across the country, including the Woodland Park Zoo (Seattle, WA), the Buddy Holly Center (Lubbock, TX), and the Memphis Museum of Science & History (Memphis, TN). As a self-described “museum nerd,” Dorothy is passionate about connecting people to museums.

Wednesdays can be especially busy at Park and Cherry. If you’re attending Munch and Learn, please plan ahead and place your lunch orders early. To reduce disruptions during the lecture, guests are asked to bring their own food from the cafe to the auditorium. You may request to-go containers to make the trip to your seat easier. Pre-order by calling (901) 312-1277.
