Memphis Rising is more than an event. It’s a moment for our city to come together and show up for one another — especially for our youth.

So many young people in Memphis are carrying more than most people ever see. This night was created to give them a space where they feel heard, supported, and reminded that their lives matter.

Yes, there will be a premiere connected to 901 Mafia Family: The Making of the Kingpin. There will be dinner. There will be an open mic. But what truly matters is the feeling in the room — the connection, the honesty, and the love.

The open mic isn’t about talent or performance. It’s about giving young people the courage to speak their truth and know someone is listening.

Memphis Rising is about community. It’s about choosing to show up, to listen, and to believe in each other. When we come together like this, real change starts to happen.

This night is a reminder that Memphis is strong, our youth are powerful, and our stories are still being written.
