John Primer and the Real Deal Blues Band

John Primer, a three-time Grammy-nominated Blues Hall of Famer and living legend of Chicago blues, significantly shaped the genre’s sound through his performances in iconic venues like Maxwell Street and Theresa’s Lounge, carrying the traditions he absorbed from his Mississippi sharecropping upbringing and early career playing with blues masters such as Junior Wells, Willie Dixon, and his idol Muddy Waters. After touring with Waters and Magic Slim, Primer established his own band in 1995, releasing numerous albums and dedicating himself to mentoring musicians, ensuring the enduring legacy of the blues.
