Get These Hands: MLK50 Spades Tournament and Game Night

Join MLK50: Justice Through Journalism for our second “Get These Hands” spades tournament and game night fundraiser. We’ll have a fun-filled evening centered on Black joy featuring spades, games, dancing, smack talking, food, and an open bar. You can sign up for the spades tournament by purchasing a team ticket or try your hand at Dominoes, Jenga, or Uno.

Doors will open at 6:30 PM and the event will start promptly at 7 PM. If you’re playing in the spades tournament, please be on-site and ready to play by 6:30 PM.

Proceeds will benefit MLK50: Justice Through Journalism, a nonprofit journalism outlet focused on poverty, power, and public policy. Our reporting brings folks together for challenging conversations, like who or what is responsible for poverty in Memphis. We also use our powerful storytelling to remember why joy, Black joy in particular, is so important to center when understanding what we can do to fight for economic justice.
