Garden Walk at Elmwood Cemetery

Elmwood Cemetery was founded 170 years ago as a garden style cemetery. The founders purposefully planted both hardwood and ornamental trees. Flowering shrubs, iris, and seasonal plants were added to the grounds to console and inspire visitors. Some families purchased and planted little memorial gardens inside cradles. These oblong memorial stones have remained empty for the better part of a century or more, until now.

Join us on Sunday, May 22nd between 11 am and 3 pm and you can meet the volunteer cradle gardeners of Elmwood Cemetery, and see what they have created! These wonderful folks have brought great beauty and joy to the already magnificent cemetery grounds. You can ask them about their gardening choices and techniques, and then stop by the food truck (Eat At Eric’s) and beverage cart (Tipsy Tumbler).

This event is free. Parking will be along Dudley Street. Rain will cancel this event.

The event is finished.
