From Numbers to Narratives: Exploring Prosecution and Safety in Shelby County

Join Vera’s ‘Reshaping Prosecution’ program and the National Civil Rights Museum for an event celebrating the culmination of Vera’s year-long partnership with the Shelby County District Attorney General’s Office.

This free and open-to-the-public event will take place at the National Civil Rights Museum | Hooks Hyde Hall. The exhibit opens at 4PM on Wednesday, March 13,2024, with keynotes at 5:30 PM and a reception to follow.

In a commitment to transparency, District Attorney General Steve Mulroy provided Vera with years of prosecution data from the Shelby County District Attorney General’s office, so that it could be analyzed and shared with the public. While conducting this analysis, the Vera team also facilitated community-led interviews with system-impacted residents of Shelby County about safety and their visions for reform.

“From Numbers to Narratives” examines the intersection of that data and those community stories in a gallery-style format.

Register today to become an integral part of the ongoing dialogue about justice, progress, and the future of safety in Shelby County.

We look forward to seeing you there!
