Hear Extraordinary Music by the World Renown Escher Quartet

*Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 1 in E-flat major is his most popular string quartet movement written at only 20 years old

*Janáček’sIntimate Letters” is some of the most passionate music of the 20th century. The composer pours out his love for a young woman 38 years his junior to whom he wrote over 700 love letters.

*Schubert’s Quartet No. 14 in D minor, ‘Death & the Maiden’ is one of his great masterpieces and has become a cherished cornerstone of the quartet genre.

The Escher String Quartet has received acclaim for its profound musical insight and rare tonal beauty. A former BBC New Generation Artist and recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the quartet has performed at the BBC Proms at Cadogan Hall and is a regular guest at Wigmore Hall. In its hometown of New York, the ensemble serves as season artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
