Embroidery 101: Snowflake Stitch Sampler with Marley Wisby

This embroidery class is intended to teach the basics of embroidery while creating a cute little piece of holiday decor. The class will begin with learning some basic embroidery stitches such as the running stitch, backstitch, split stitch, french knot, stem stitch, chain stitch, feather stitch, and more! Once we have practiced those stitches, each student will get a hoop, cloth, scissors, needle, and thread to create their own snowflake pattern embroidery. Ambitious students can even incorporate text into their designs! All materials will be able to be taken home so students can continue working on their pieces even after the class is finished.
Artist Bio:
Marley is an artist and educator from Nashville, Tennessee. They love any form of making but specialize in painting, bookbinding, sewing, and mixed media sculpture. Marley received a bachelor’s degree in art from Rhodes College in 2022. They have been teaching art in various capacities since 2015.
