Dark Side of the Moon Laser Show & Lunar Eclipse
Fifty years ago, a soon-to-be super group entered the studio to record their latest music. Over the next 9 months, they created one of the greatest albums of all time. The group was Pink Floyd and the album was (of course) Dark Side of the Moon. On May 15, an astronomical event helps us commemorate that creative masterpiece by observing a total lunar eclipse.
We will show the Dark Side of the Moon laser show at 8:30 pm, and then you can join us outside to observe a total lunar eclipse. In case it is cloudy, we will run a real-time simulation in the planetarium. We plan to have the gift shop open along with activities. Snacks and maybe adult beverages will be available for purchase. If the weather permits, we will have telescopes to help us watch the earth’s shadow creep across the moon’s face until totality, which begins at 10:28 pm.
