Meet the authors Dan Conway and Bill Haltom at Novel: Never Over The Hill.

DAN CONAWAY & BILL HALTOM: NEVER OVER THE HILL

Join us as we welcome DAN CONAWAY & BILL HALTOM on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29 at 6:00 pm to celebrate the release of their new book NEVER OVER THE HILL: A MEMOIR IN BRIGHT ORANGE.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

“For these guys, and for me, orange is a lifetime color. No matter where you went to college, this book will remind you of how that colored your life. A great read.” – Peyton Manning

“I have no idea how Bill Haltom and Dan Conaway squeezed all the joys of college into a single book. But then, I have no idea how they squeezed the Vietnam War, the moon landing, integration, and nekkid streakers into a single book. Oh, plus stolen toilet seats and ‘Rocky Top’  and romance and wistfulness. So, the book is a lot like college, come to think of it. And it will stay with you, in just the same way.”  – Geoff Calkins, Daily Memphian columnist and morning radio host, named best sports columnist in America five times by AP Sports Editors

Anybody who attended UT during the same era as Bill Haltom and Dan Conaway can identify — while simultaneously sighing in nostalgia and gulping in embarrassment — with these riotous stories.  How th’hell did we, let alone the university, survive?” — Sam Venable, Knoxville News Sentinel columnist and UT School of Journalism’s least-promising graduate in the class of ’69.”

“Never Over the Hill is a must read for anyone who attended college during the 1960s and 1970s regardless of where you went to school. Dan Conaway and Bill Haltom’s gift for storytelling is on full display in this beautifully written book looking back at their years at UT and their look forward at the true meaning and impact of the lifelong friendships they made there.” – Mike Wirth, Dean & Professor Emeritus, College of Communication and Information, University of Tennessee, Knoxville

“Two great Volunteers reminisce about their college days at the University of Tennessee, but it is much more than that, it is great storytelling.  Hilarious stories about two young men coming of age in the 60’s and 70’s on a college campus.  It transcends time and will make each of us fondly remember our own college days, no matter the decade.” – Margie Nichols Gill, Vice Chancellor for Communications Emerita, University of Tennessee, Knoxville
