Join us for the September installment of the Strictly Jazz Series as Memphis guitar veteran Charlton Johnson pays homage to the great George Benson! The Crosstown Strictly Jazz Series, presented by Crosstown Arts in collaboration with Strictly Jazz Entertainment, is designed to salute classic jazz music as contemporary musicians perform the work of the legends.
Grammy award winning guitarist & vocalist George Benson has been an icon in the music world with many hits on the pop charts as well as winning numerous awards for his amazing and iconic guitar work.
This concert will feature a mixture of George Benson’s guitar featured recordings as well as a special selection of some of his most requested vocals.
The discography of George Benson consists of the original releases of thirty-six studio albums and five live albums on Prestige Records, Columbia Records, Verve Records, A&M Records, CTI Records, Warner Bros. Records, GRP Records, Concord Records, and Provogue Records, as well as two music DVDs.
