Comedian Alvin Newsome (HBO Max) headlines Flyway Comedy Club
Flyway Comedy Club showcases the funniest touring and local underground comedians we can find to Memphis audiences the 4th Saturday of every month. This month’s headliner is Dallas-based nationally-touring headliner (and U of M grad), Alvin Newsom! Alvin’s a native Memphian who tours clubs and festivals all over and has recently been featured on HBO Max’s Second Chance Stage, so we’re super excited to have him on. Featuring will be Richard Douglas Jones (Comedy Central), and rounded out by a tba lineup of whatever strange creatures we see being funny at other bars around the city. Come have a drink and be stupid with us for a bit!
Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8:30. Tickets are $10 online, but $15 at the door, so get them ahead of time!
About Alvin:
Alvin is a regular on the DFW comedy scene who has been on the rise. Originally from Memphis, TN Alvin has been entertaining audiences speaking on topics like marriage, parenthood, getting older, and the dredges of corporate America. His style is meant to be enjoyable to all backgrounds & has garnered him opportunities to perform in the Ventura Comedy Festival, Sacramento Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, Memphis Comedy Festival, Floodwater Comedy Festival, Oak City Comedy Festival, Gilda’s Laughfest and an appearance on Magnolia Network and HBO Max’s Second Chance Stage. In addition, his comedic talents have also led to him opening for well-respected headliners Baron Vaughn, Sarah Tiana, Matthew Broussard, Jenny Zigrino, Aparna Nancherla, Kevin McCaffrey, Ralph Harris, Preacher Lawson, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Paul Rodriguez.
