Closer Than You Think

🖤✨ You’re Invited ✨🖤

Join us Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Memphis for “Closer Than You Think” – a National Day Against Police Brutality event hosted by Black Lives Matter Grassroots Memphis.

This powerful day will feature impacted families of Tyre Nichols, Derek Brown, Jaylin McKenzie, Breonna Taylor, Eric Holmes, Glenn Foster Jr., and Philip Hatley — speaking truth about their loved ones’ lives, legacies, and the ongoing fight for justice.

🎤 Special Guest Speaker:

Dr. Melina Abdullah – Co-Founder of BLM Grassroots, activist, scholar, and freedom fighter. 2024, Independent presidential candidate Dr. Cornel West announced Dr. Abdullah as his vice-presidential running mate.

This is more than an event it’s a movement. Because justice is not optional. Because remembrance is not optional. Because accountability is not optional
