Celebrate What’s Right: Bridge Over Troubled Water
Join New Memphis for a conversation with some of the innovative leaders who are working to make our city safer!
Memphis has been recognized as one of the most hospitable cities in the country, yet it’s also cited as one of the most dangerous. Can two things be true at once? Join New Memphis the Tuesday after Thanksgiving for a solutions-focused conversation that will explore the ways our community is working to turn that hospitality inward to ensure that neighbors care for neighbors, from the street level to the policy level.
There are leaders in our community – often unsung – who are working to make our city safer with innovative new approaches and a commitment to collaboration. We have invited a panel of these leaders to discuss the opportunities they see for Memphis and share the strategies they have developed to improve community safety. Get to know some of the organizations and initiatives who are working for change, addressing everything from youth engagement, physical and mental health care, schools, re-entry and more.
This event will feature a panel discussion, moderated by Mayor-Elect Paul Young, followed by light refreshments and conversations.
