Art Opening Party – “Be/longing”

Urevbu Contemporary is honored to present Be/longing, a solo exhibition exploring the work of Nigerian visual artist Amarachi Odimba, and her most recent exploration of the human experience.

In the face of the shifting and fast paced world humanity has constructed, what does it mean to spend time with oneself? Introspection becomes a conscious effort; private time is now something one must carve into meticulous and tightly compressed schedules. Amarachi Odimba’s mixed media works take a step back to explore timeless questions of the shared human experience. With the help of explosive colors, strong outlines, and free running paint, Odimba strives to help her audience answer the questions: How do we define true love? What is community to us? Do we feel seen? Do we feel like we belong?

Wine will be served.

The event is finished.
