Afro Latino Week 2026 Celebrating Afro-Latino Voices, History & Culture February 23 – 27, 2026

We are excited to invite you to Afro Latino Week 2026, a week-long celebration honoring Afro-Latino voices, history, and culture through storytelling, music, dance, and community connection.

From February 23-27, Cazateatro Bilingual Theatre Group will present a series of cultural events designed to uplift, educate, and celebrate the richness of Afrolatinidad.

Afro Latino Week Schedule

Monday, February 23
Voices of Afrolatinidad – Open Mic Night

We kick off Afro Latino Week with an open mic night celebrating Afro-Latino voices through stories, music, and poetry.
The evening will feature young Afro-Latino artists, including Eileen Frazer, Andrea Jacobo, and Fabio Mariano, among others.

Story Time with Abuela Tomasa

Wednesday, February 25
Afro-Venezuelan Music Workshop

An interactive workshop led by Tambores Djembe, exploring the history, rhythms, and traditional instruments of Afro-Venezuelan music.

Thursday, February 26
Afro Brazilian Dance Workshop
📍 Cazateatro Office

This vibrant dance workshop will be led by instructor Anna Beatrice Scott, inviting participants to explore Afro-Brazilian rhythms, movement, and cultural expression through dance.

Afro Latino Celebration Night

We close Afro Latino Week with a joyful celebration honoring Afro-Latino communities through music, dance, poetry, and community gathering.
The night will feature Tambores Djembe, performing powerful Venezuelan drum rhythms with deep African roots, along with dance performances, poetry, and music hosted by DJ Alexis White.

Join us as we celebrate Afro-Latino heritage, amplify community voices, and come together through art and culture.
