Afro-Latino Night Fiesta

Celebrate Black History Month with Cazateatro’s Afro-Latino Night Fiesta – an exciting experience to honor the valuable contribution of the Afro-Latinos in America and Latin America through music. The event features the Cazateatro Crew, DJ Xander spinning the best Afro-Latin beats, and Las Bompleneras returns to celebrate with us by popular request for Afro-Latina Week. Las Bompleneras Unplugged, a six-piece all-female ensemble, will showcase traditional and original Afro-Puertorican Bomba and Plena music through song, percussion, and dance. The director of Las Bompleneras Unplugged, Ivelisse Díaz, has over 30 years of experience studying and practicing Bomba and 15 years of experience in teaching the musical art form.

And for the first time in Memphis, from Chicago, Illinois, Los Jarochicanos.Consists of a six-piece musical ensemble of Son Jarocho, Traditional Mexican – Afro-Indigenous music from Veracruz.
