30th Annual AAMIA to Honor Memphis Leaders and

Invest in the Next Generation

Memphis, TN — April 2026 — The Hobson-Goodlow Foundation, in partnership with the Tau Iota
Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., will host the 30th Annual African American
Male Image Awards & Scholarship Program (AAMIA) on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the
Rose Theatre on the campus of the University of Memphis.
For 30 years, AAMIA has been intentional about recognizing African American men in Memphis who
are leading with integrity, professionalism, and service, while also investing in the future through
scholarships for college-bound young men.
This year, the program will award ten $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors as they prepare to
transition into postsecondary life as college freshmen.
“We are honoring men who represent integrity, professionalism, and service in our community. This is
about more than recognition — it is about honoring, encouraging, and investing in high school seniors
as they prepare to take the next step into postsecondary life as college freshmen,” said Kelvin B. Hart,
Chair of AAMIA.
Guest Speaker
This year’s program will feature Dee Brown, entrepreneur, author of “Pursuit of the Impossible Dream,”
and CEO of The P3 Group. His journey reflects resilience, discipline, and vision, and his message will
speak directly to the next generation on overcoming adversity and turning opportunity into purpose.

Event Experience
The 30th Annual AAMIA will be presented as an awards show experience, including Blue Carpet arrival
and media engagement, recognition of community leaders, scholarship presentations, guest speaker
and live entertainment.
