2024 Visible Portraits of Light Unveiling Ceremony & Art Exhibit

Visible Portraits of Light returns for the second annual Unveiling Ceremony and Art Exhibit. Larry Walker, a master artist, initiated this movement to acknowledge and celebrate individuals who contribute positively to the community through art. This year’s ceremony will unveil the original oil portraits of the 12 VPL 2024 honorees and recognize the student winners from the 2024 Visible Art Competition. The portraits of the VPL Honorees from 2023 and honorable mentions from the 2024 Art Competition will also be displayed. As a VPL Honoree, they receive an original hand-drawn oil portrait by Master Artist Larry Walker (valued at $10,000) free of charge! 

Larry Walker is a native Memphian and has completed commissioned pieces for Former Mayor AC Wharton, Former Mayor Willie Herenton, Civil Rights Activist Maxine Smith, and more!
