For Charity Bianca, a Memphis native with over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, making an impact isn’t just a job, it’s her calling. From mentoring local youth through tnAchieves to leading within national organizations, Charity’s passion for connecting people to resources inspired her to launch Courageous Circle, a marketing and branding business designed to help others tell their stories and thrive.
“I’ve always been the go-to person when people have issues,” Charity shared. “My superpower is connecting people and resources.”
Memphis Roots, Global Impact
Charity’s journey has always been tied to Memphis. She graduated from Wooddale High School and later earned her BA in Communications from UT Martin. Throughout her career, she’s found that Memphis’ culture of service has influenced her at every step. “Tennessee is the Volunteer State, and in Memphis, there’s always a way to serve, whether it’s donating, helping out, or organizing,” she explained.
That ethos of service shapes both her work and her perspective. “If you can survive in Memphis, you can survive anywhere,” she said with a smile.
The Courageous Circle Origin Story
Officially founded on June 8, 2020, Courageous Circle emerged from Charity’s personal experiences and desire to give back. As someone who overcame significant life obstacles, Charity sees her life as coming full circle. “Being vulnerable enough to share my story has been key,” she reflected. “I’ve had a chosen family that supported me, and I want to be that for others.”
The company focuses on amplifying clients’ voices, helping them build their brands, and navigating partnerships within Memphis and beyond. Charity takes her role as a brand ambassador seriously, often advocating for her clients in spaces they’re not present. “I want to be your biggest cheerleader,” she said. “The world needs to hear your voice.”
Bridging a Gap in Memphis Marketing
Courageous Circle fills a crucial gap in Memphis’ marketing industry by offering comprehensive branding services. Many small businesses and entrepreneurs rely solely on social media, but Charity helps them expand their presence with websites, business, to, business strategies, and impactful storytelling.
“People rooting for me from far away showed me the power of social media,” she noted. “But I want to ensure businesses have the tools to be found outside of those platforms.”
A Day in the Life of Charity
When Charity isn’t mentoring or connecting businesses with resources, you can find her indulging in her love for Memphis cuisine. Her favorite spots include Biscuits and Jams for brunch, Bog & Barley for lunch, and Char for dinner. And of course, she never skips a stop at Ben & Jerry’s on Poplar for their dairy-free treats.
“If I had one full day in Memphis, I’d start with brunch, hit the Oak Court Mall, check out local events on Choose901’s calendar, and end the day with good food and art,” she shared.
Looking Ahead
Charity is also part of the inaugural Memphis Change Collective cohort, where her project focuses on eviction prevention. She plans to host a legal resources panel and community event in March 2025, emphasizing that “local change can happen” through collaboration and advocacy.
With Courageous Circle, Charity hopes to inspire others to be bold, use their voices, and take ownership of their stories. “Let me be courageous and bold so others can see they can do it too,” she declared.
