Don’t Miss “A Magical Night” at Overton Park

Overton Park has always been a gem for Memphis, but over the last twelve years, it’s leveled up in a major way, thanks to Executive Director Tina Sullivan. After more than a decade, Tina’s stepping back, but not without leaving a huge impact that’s reshaped the park into a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

Celebrate Tina Sullivan’s Legacy at “A Magical Night”

On Thursday, October 26, the Overton Park Conservancy is throwing its annual gala, A Magical Night – and you won’t want to miss it. Picture an evening under the stars with incredible food by Chef Jimmy Gentry, live music from the dynamic string quartet EnsembleX, and all your fellow park lovers gathered to celebrate what makes Overton Park so special.

This night is more than just a party; it’s a chance to keep the magic of Overton Park going strong. All funds raised during the gala go right back into the park, supporting its 184 acres, from the Greensward to the formal gardens and even the Old Forest State Natural Area. If you’ve got a soft spot for Memphis green spaces, this is your chance to make an impact while having an unforgettable night out.

Why You Should Support Overton Park

When Tina joined the Conservancy back in 2012, Overton Park was ready for some love. Fast forward to today, and the park is thriving, pulling in over 1.3 million visitors every year. With Tina’s leadership, Overton Park raised more than $21 million for various projects, including a $4 million facelift for its historic golf course.

She also led efforts to create new hangouts, like the Bike Gate arch and the Rainbow Lake Playground, and launched a ton of community programs. Whether you’re at a family-friendly event, exploring the Old Forest, or checking out one of their 100+ annual events, it’s all thanks to the work of Tina and her team.

What’s Next for Overton Park?

With Tina passing the torch, the new Executive Director, Kaci Murley, is ready to take Overton Park to the next level. “Tina’s left some pretty big shoes to fill, and I’m excited to build on everything she’s done. I want to make sure Overton Park remains a place for all Memphians to connect and unwind,” says Kaci.
