Dog Days of June

Did I stage a full-on pupper photo shoot just for this blog post? Yes, and you’re welcome. Our models Charlie and Dakota want to make sure you know about all the ways you can enjoy your summer around the Bluff City with your best four-legged friend. Grab those leashes and hit the ground running, with our Dog Days of June list of “pup”tivities.

Dakota snoozin’ in the sun.

Along with all the fun and activities, Memphis Animal Services and Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue will be on site doing mobile adoptions. So, if you don’t have a fur-iend to take with you, maybe find one while you’re there.

This event runs from 4 pm to 7 pm and is followed shortly after by turtle races. If you can’t make it this time, don’t fret, Loflin Yard is always dog- friendly (hallelujah!), and bingo is always free.

Dogtopia’s Summer Kick-Off Party – Friday, June 28, 2019

Make your way to Carriage Crossing from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm with your dog and human friends alike to enjoy Dogtopia’s summer party. The event page says you’ll be welcomed with “open, sweaty arms” and boy, do we feel that during this Memphis heat. Frozen doggie treats will be available and practice those “cheese” faces, to get the best picture of you and your fur baby during the party’s photo op.

Brews and Rescues – Saturday, June 29th, 2019

Join the crew at Casual Pint on Highland Row from 2 pm to 5 pm to support Streetdog Foundation. $10 gets you a souvenir pint glass, one pour, plus swag. There will be Streetdog merch for sale, a silent auction, and plenty of pups for adoption if you’re in the market for a new partner in crime. If you’re still not sure if this is the move for you, I’ve got three little words that might seal the deal – puppy pool party.
