Dog-A-Roo Festival at Shelby Farms: May 9

There’s no better way to let your pup know you love him than by letting him run around the beautiful Shelby Farms, loved by dogs all over Memphis. Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is hosting the 2nd Annual Dog- A-Roo Festival, presented by Memphis Veterinary Specialists.

All Pup and Parent pairs will be able to enjoy a Costume and Talent Contest, Parade of Rescues featuring adoptable pets, Training Workshops, Working Dog Demos, Agility Classes, Meet and Greet with area veterinary clinics, local food trucks and live music by Chinese Connection Dub Embassy.

At noon, there will be a Four-Legged 4k Run/Walk for you and your furry friend. You will both get matching swag and will be able to explore the beautiful 120 acre Outback Dog Park. Get some exercise and spend some great quality time together!

All proceeds from the event will go towards the daily cost of running the Outback Dog Park.

  • Cost: Free!
    • Parking: $5 donation per car, pre-registered Four-legged 4K participants park for free.

Talent and Costume Contest | 10-11:30 am

  • Do you think your dog could win Best Dressed, Happiest/Most Energetic or Best Trick/Most Obedient? Register them for the contest! There’s also a Look Alike award, if you strangely look just like your pup. Please print off the registration form by clicking here and bring with you the day of the event.
  • $10 per entry

Four Legged 4K Run/Walk | noon

  • The fun run is 2.7 miles long beginning on Hester Road (Gate11) and is not timed. There is a shorter ‘small dog course’ available for those who would like a shorter route. Water stations for the dogs will be available throughout the course, and owners, bring your water bottles!
