Improvements to the crosstown development and surrounding areas are coming because of two new grants. One of those grants will connect the old Sears building to the V & E Greenline trail. One of the developers told us that means connecting the popular project to Rhodes college and the nearby neighborhoods.
The Memphis Flyer posted information about the second grant, which will pay for a potentially massive improvement inside the building.
It’s just the most recent news showing a lot of momentum for the project.
As we’ve reported here, right now the main sticking point is making sure the city of Memphis has some skin in the game.
