Crosstown Arts Launches “Against The Grain” Online Platform for Memphis Music

You may not be able to attend concert and live shows right now, but, thanks to Crosstown Arts, you can now buy virtual tickets to see new, made-at-home videos of performances by local musicians!

Crosstown Arts launched the first ever Memphis-artist-only online platform, “Against the Grain.” From folksy blues and underground house music to R&B, pop, hip-hop and classical jazzy jams, there are wide variety of musical acts that you can enjoy from the comfort of your homes.

A recent press release provides the following details:

  • Memphis musicians post made-at-home videos of their musical performances on the new website, and viewers can buy a virtual ticket to directly support musicians who are unable to perform in public during the pandemic.
  • Virtual tickets start at $5, and those who wish to donate more to a musician will have the option to add additional funds to their ticket. One hundred percent of the online revenue generated for each specific musician will be paid to that musician.
  • The videos that musicians submit are newly created and feature individual songs of original music, covers, or composed pieces of music.

Artists include:
