So you’re ready to go green? Getting started with your zero-waste lifestyle can be a little daunting and you might be unsure of where to
In 2019, Compass Community Schools opened it doors to start a new day in education. Compass Community Schools prepares students for college life and lifelong success by focusing on developing the whole child.
Compass Community Schools is a group of six K – 12 tuition-free, public charter schools proudly serving students in predominately low-income neighborhoods.
Compass follows Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ideal of education:
“Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education,” our vision is to provide “true education” within a supportive, joyful, and hopeful school culture to prepare all students to be positive agents of change in our communities.

Every individual is unique with individual learning styles.
Compass embeds four core values across every school: respect, wisdom, courage, and servant leadership.
Service Learning projects allow students to apply knowledge and skills in real-world contexts.
As a charter school, Compass is supported by a federal and state budget. However, this does not fully cover the resources needed to level the learning gap in Memphis.
