Community Round Up: The Station launches a new way to give back

If you’ve ever wished there was an easy way to support local students while running your everyday errands, The Station has you covered.

The Station is launching its new Community Round Up initiative—a simple program that lets customers round up their purchase to the nearest dollar at checkout. It might only be a few cents at a time, but those small donations can add up to make a big difference.

The first beneficiary is the White Station High School Athletics Program, with every round-up donation collected through August 31 going directly toward supporting Spartan student-athletes. Even better? The Station will match the first $1,000 donated, doubling the impact of the community’s generosity.

“Our goal has always been to be more than a place to shop—we want to be a business that invests in our community,” said Ethan Edwards, owner of The Station. “The Community Round Up program gives every customer an easy opportunity to make a difference, and we’re excited to kick it off by supporting White Station High School Athletics.”

The new initiative isn’t intended to be a one-time campaign, either. The Station plans to feature different local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations throughout the year, giving Memphians an easy way to support causes close to home every time they stop in.

There’s another way to help, too.

While customers are rounding up at the register, they can also help local children get ready for the new school year.

Through August 31, The Station is serving as a collection site for Global Alliance Outreach‘s school supply drive, accepting donations of new backpacks and school supplies. The items collected will be distributed to local children and families who need a little extra support before the first day of school.

Whether it’s a backpack, a pack of notebooks, or simply rounding up your purchase by a few cents, every contribution stays right here in our community.

It’s the kind of neighborhood partnership that makes Memphis special… local businesses, local schools, local nonprofits, and local people all coming together to make a difference.
