Out of thousands of entries, Collierville was chosen as a finalist among 15 other towns including Georgetown, Texas; Corinth, Mississippi; Flagstaff, Arizona; Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and Montpelier, Vermont. The bracket-style voting took place online where participants were asked to vote for their favorite town.
“It was incredible to see the community rally to push Collierville toward the first place,” commented Mayor Joyner. “Not only are we ‘America’s Best Main Street,’ but we also look forward to sharing our wonderful community with the rest of America through Parade magazine. Thank you to every person who cast a vote in this contest!”
Parade Magazine says: “In the summer, neighbors gather on the Collierville square, a picturesque park at the heart of the community, for free concerts. Local pride springs from the town’s rich history but also its promising future: Since the 1990s, the population has tripled as corporations like FedEx have moved to town, and the local economy is thriving. But the success of downtown is no accident. Credit also goes to a roster of programs that promote smart development.”
The Town of Collierville will be celebrating this news at a reception on Monday August 18th at the Morton Museum, starting at 10am.
We congratulate the residents and businesses of Collierville!
