Looking for the best way to celebrate your Cinco de Mayo? Look no further, Memphis has so many great options and specials for you to choose from!

No, it’s not a celebration of Mexican independence, but it is a fun way to celebrate the beautiful parts of Mexican culture that we get to experience. You can read how Cinco de Mayo started while you start on that first margarita and check out these opportunities below.

Your favorite shops on Broad Ave. will be treating celebrating Cinco de Mayo with free chips and dip! Shops participating are: Falling into Place, Merchants on Broad, Bingham & Broad (w/ an artist reception for Lauren S. Cannon), and Found Memphis (w/ and artist reception for Kea Woods). Caliente food truck will also be available for you to enjoy! Chip Crawl is from 5:00pm-8:00pm, don’t miss out!

Enjoy a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the Cove Bar where they will bring back “Country Fried Friday” with music by Big Barton. Drink specials will go all night long! Only $5 cover at the door.

Loflin Yard will host a free Reggae Style show featuring the Chinese Connection Dub Embassy along with special guests! Show is from 5:00pm-9:00pm

Get ready for a fun filled fiesta at Swanky’s featuring a live performance by the soulful pop band ThumpDaddy.

From open-close On The Border has assembled the party of the year. They will have live music by DJ Funn starting at 4:00pm with a $5 cover. Is Wolfchase not close to you? Join them at their Southhaven location with DJ L.Z. from 5:00pm-12:00am, cover is still $5. Don’t miss out on the drink specials and fiesta all day long!

Join Breakaway Running for their annual Cinco de Mayo pub run starting at 6:00pm at their store in Overton Square. The first 200 to sign a waiver at the event get the 2017 edition of the Cinco de Mayo pub run t-shirt!

Come enjoy the original and bilingual musical and play about love, hope and fighting to pursue your dreams! Show starts at 8:00pm at the Evergreen Theatre. Get your tickets here!

Join the Art Village Gallery to kick off the Memphis in May’s Salute to Colombia with the opening reception of artist Jorge Yances artwork. The exhibit is called “Cartagena: Memorias y Conexiones.” Yances brings elements of realism to his artful recollection of his native land. Come experience his beautiful artwork from 6:00pm-9:00pm, admission is $10!

From 6:00pm-10:00pm, First Friday Happy Hour series will host their Cinco de Mayo celebration for young professionals to have a non-traditional and fun networking experience. They will have the opportunity to network while enjoying signature cocktails for the celebration! $5 cocktails, free admission, AND complimentary taco bar! 1819 Madison Ave.

Join the Crescent Club an all day Cinco de Mayo celebration with Latin music and lots of food. Enjoy the Mexican Style Lunch Buffet from 11:30am-2:00pm for only $15.95 per person, complimentary homemade chips, cheese, and salsa, and drink specials!

Ghost River’s Taproom will be open early at 2:00pm (closes at 10pm) to help accommodate you Beale Street Music Fest goers a brew or two beforehand. They will also be bringing back their “Beer-itas” from National Margarita Day to celebrate the holiday! AND Fuel Cafe food truck will be on site at 4:00pm with tacos galore!

Starting at 5:00pm, join Slider Inn for some authentic tacos cooked to perfection along with Mexican beer, $5 tequila shots, and $6 margaritas!

Not only will they have their delicious food, but the incredible Patty Harper and Faultline will be play live from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Volunteers from The Dream Factory Memphis will be raising money and have a Silent Auction so that you have the opportunity to provide a Dream for a sick child. Their goal is to raise $3,000 on Friday, so come help make that happen!
