Yet another busy and exciting week has come and gone here in the bluff city. This week in particular we love see how many ways people are working hard to make our great city even better. As always, we can’t include everything, but if there is something that absolutely had to be in this list, let us know.

1. Bass Pro Announced 600 hundred job openings

All those jobs are up for grabs at a job fair in February. You can read our blog about which positions are available. One local TV station GM has deemed Bass Pro “worth the wait”. This comes as plan are being made for the next MEMFix in the pinch district.

2. Marc Gasol makes Grizzlies History

Making history twice in the process, Marc Gasol earned a starting spot in the NBA All-Star game. The Grizzlies even posted a video show us exactly why he deserves the honor. Check out what he said to local TV stations Action News 5, WREG, and Fox 13.

3. The Grizzlies aren’t the only ones growling right now

Check out the above video from Taylor James, proprietor of the Madison Growler inside Cash Saver. It’s just one part of the growler revolution that has accompanied the growth of beer culture in Memphis.

4. Memphis Film Scene Makes List of Best Big Cities

Moviemaker Magazine called Memphis the number 7 best “big city” in country to work in film. The article really focused on the less glamorous jobs most of us don’t see. Other cities on the list included Austin, Portland, LA, San Francisco, and New York, just to name a few. Check out the blog here.

5. Uber and Lyft Closer to Agreement with Memphis
The ride sharing services are getting closer to an agreement with city leaders. The Memphis Business Journal reports Memphis would be the first municipality in the country to do so. Another interesting side to this story is how one new app was created by entrepreneurs right here in Memphis to give traditional cab companies a little help competing with new ride sharing services.
