Lunar New Year, widely recognized throughout Asia, is a celebration of the arrival of spring, and the beginning of the year on the lunar calendar. Marked by many traditions surrounding family—filled with laughter, parties, and wishes for Good Fortune—the holiday presents a time to focus on the most important things in life; that and the unlimited amounts of dumplings.

Good Fortune Co. is partnering with South Main Memphis restaurants to host a month-long bar crawl—and the kick-off party for the festivities will feature a live Lion Dance performance. Doors open at 3PM. Showtime’s at 4PM. 

This bar crawl comes with a task that’s well worth the reward at the end of it all! You’ve got 22 days to try three Lunar New Year inspired cocktails—and collect all 6 “Bunny Dollars.” One cocktail = 2 Bunny Dollars. Once you complete the crawl, head back to Good Fortune Co. to turn in your earnings in exchange for a custom t-shirt to commemorate the occasion!

Celebrate Lunar New Year in Memphis with a banquet showcasing 150 years of Chinese history.

The Chinese Historical Society of Memphis and the Mid-South is teaming up with the Greater Memphis United Chinese Association to present a 10-course meal and cultural commemoration, honoring 150 years of Chinese American History in Memphis. 

There will be live music, special guest speakers, a silent auction, door prizes, and more to memorialize the shared heritage and collaboration in our local community.
