National Coloring Book Day is August 2nd, and we’ve compiled a list of ways to sit back, relax, and get your coloring on all while enjoying our city.
- Five in One Social Club (2535 Broad Ave, 38112)
While you’re enjoying one of Five in One’s many cool, creative workshops, grab a couple of adult coloring books from their retail store. Visit their website for hours and more information about what they offer.
- The Booksellers at Laurelwood (387 Perkins Road Ext, 38117)
Even though their Coloring Between the Wines event is sold out (boo!), be sure and stop by Memphis’ premier independent bookstore since 1977 to pick up some adult coloring books to create your own wine and coloring book party at home with friends.
- Burke’s Book Store (936 South Cooper St, 38104)
Burke’s Book Store has been a Memphis staple since 1875 for new, used, and rare books. Stop in (you can even bring your dog) and find your next favorite read, and buy a coloring book for the kids, too.
- Signet Sealed
Signet Sealed is the brainchild of Memphian Sarah Baumann. You can find her various city designs and prints online here. However, her Memphis Coloring Book is what steals the show. Pre-order it now, because you won’t want to miss this launch.
- Color Me Memphis
Visit the website to download this month’s featured Memphis-inspired coloring book page, and follow their Facebook and Instagram to see previous months and figure out where you can find them next. Share your posts using #ColorMeMemphis, and show everyone just how well you can stay inside the lines.
- The Art Project (2092 Trimble Place, 38104)
Overton Square’s newest art studio is open now and ready to entertain both the kids and the adults. The Art Project is kicking off Pattern Week and offering coloring projects like Spirographs and create your mandala. They’re also offering 15% off Jenean Morrison‘s coloring books, colored pencils, and fine line markers to celebrate this Memphis artist’s success.
Share photos of your work with #nationalcoloringbookday and #Choose901, and show the world how Memphis celebrates.
