Now is the Time. Memphis is the Place.

Calling all Memphians with muscles..

Did you know that there are over 6,000 refugees living in Memphis ? These individuals have fled persecution from places like Bhutan, Somalia, Eritrea, and Iraq.  When refugees arrive in Memphis, World Relief is one of the refugee resettlement agencies that works to help these individuals start life afresh in our city.

One of the responsibilities of World Relief as a refugee resettlement agency is to furnish the first apartments of incoming refugees. While government assistance is given to help make this possible, donations from Memphians help stretch the federal dollars allocated to each individual. In December, World Relief received a generous donation from an individual who purchased all the furnishing of a floor of hotel in a closeout auction sale. This donation has been in temporary storage. Now is the time to find a more permanent place for these items until they make their way into the homes of refugees.

On Saturday February 23rd, World Relief will be moving donated furniture in storage in Arlington, TN to a warehouse in downtown Memphis.  We need manpower, trucks, and trailers to help make the move more manageable. Interested in helping out from 9 am- 2 pm? Email for more details.
