Submissions are open now for the winter edition of Beale Street Art Crawl, a quarterly showcase for local artists and artisans.
Beale Street Art Crawl is hosted by Dear Music, an arts advocacy nonprofit organization, in partnership with the Downtown Memphis Commission.
The first Beale Street Art Crawl was held on Beale Street last October. Organizers have announced that Beale Street Art Crawl will move indoors for the winter quarter show to be held at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, March 3rd from 1 pm – 7 pm.
Artist booth spaces are available for vendors in the following categories/mediums: ceramics, drawing, fiber/textiles, glass, health and beauty, home/décor, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media 2D & 3D, music, painting, photography, printmaking/graphics, sculpture, toys, wood, books, fashion, digital media, bakery/candy.
The deadline for artist vendor submissions is January 31st. There’s a $20 application fee, and if selected, there is a $250 exhibition fee. See the submission guidelines and apply here.
In addition to the vendor portion of the event, Dear Music and the Orpheum are hosting an art competition that is open only to art & design college students. The application fee for the competition is $20. They are accepting Drawing/Sketching, Mixed Media 2D & 3D, Painting, Photography, Printmaking/Graphics, and Digital Media submissions for the competition. Applications are due by Jan. 31st.
Submissions will be judged by a panel of professional curators. Winners will receive a cash prize, and their work will be part of an upcoming exhibition, “Lyrics “N” Color, which will be on display in the Crosstown Arts Gallery July 23rd – July 27th. Learn more about the Art Competition here.
