Brittany Ordu loves being a part of the movement surrounding education reform in Memphis. After her residency year with the Memphis Teacher Residency, she was hired as a second grade teacher at Cornerstone Prep in Binghampton. Cornerstone, took on the lowest performing school in the state and has turned it into a high performance school. Recently collected data show that the second graders she teaches have improved better than 98% of students nationwide. She came to Memphis knowing she wanted to change the lives of students, but had no idea how her life would be changed in the process.
