How did you become a Memphian? and what do you enjoy about serving as a handyman in memphis?
“Throughout my childhood, I primarily resided in Millington, TN, then moved to Westwood for a few years before returning to Millington at the age of 16!
There’s nothing like working with Memphis clients—everyone’s got their own style and personality, which makes every job unique. I love stepping into a space and transforming it, making sure everything is organized and looks seamless from top to bottom. For me, it’s not just about the work—it’s about the people. I take pride in what I do, not just for the results, but for the satisfaction of my clients. Seeing their reaction when a project comes together is what makes it all worth it.”
What inspired you to become a handyman and how did you get started in this business?
“I possess a natural talent for assisting others and have always been skilled with my hands. After serving in the Army, my plan was to establish a mechanic shop, an aspiration that originated from my childhood hobby of fixing bicycles for my neighbors. The creation of Brooks Handyman Services was prompted by someone asking who had mounted my TV in 2018 and if they could receive the same service. I replied that I could provide the service for $50, and this marked the inception of my business.”
How do you build trust with your clients and ensure they are satisfied with your work?
“As a Master Mason, I strive to embody the values of being dependable and trustworthy. My reputation is built largely on referrals, reflecting the trust my previous clients have placed in me. I consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, honesty, and respect for my clients’ property. After providing service, clients often return to me for future needs. To ensure clients satisfaction, I solicit feedback and make any necessary adjustments before completing the job.”
How do you set yourself apart from other handymen in Memphis?
“I consistently uphold a professional attitude and maintain open communication channels. During weeks when I am not responsible for parenting and do not have my children with me, I am readily available to address calls from new or existing customers. Generally, I respond to and services clients immediately or within a few hours of their initial inquiry. If the service falls outside of this window, I ensure it will be completed within 72 hours or at the earliest convenience based on our schedule. As a dedicated professional and family man, I understand the importance of reliability and trust, ensuring every client receives the same level of commitment and care that I value in my own home.”

“Demonstrate honesty and professionalism, treat others with respect and kindness, research your industry and market thoroughly, maintain competitive pricing, avoid undercharging, remain humble, and stay motivated, even in challenging circumstances.”
