Biz Week 2026 to Ignite Memphis Entrepreneurship May 11-15

While Memphis anchor institutions spend billions annually, local small businesses often struggle to get a foot in the door. Memphis Medical District Collaborative is moving to close that gap by putting entrepreneurs directly in the room with decision-makers from TVA, Turner Construction, and APEX Accelerator

Small Businesses, local entrepreneurs, and developers are invited to Biz Week 2026, a high-impact week of networking, education, and investment taking place the week of May 11. Hosted at Orion Financial headquarters, the week features a dynamic lineup of events designed to bridge the gap between small businesses and the Mid-South’s largest anchor institutions.

Highlights of the week include:

Roundtable Discussion

A deep-dive discussion on government and corporate contracting featuring leaders from APEX Accelerator, TVA, Turner Construction, and Dr. Daphnie Swift, Esq. The session will also feature Kelly Miller, Financial Analyst and owner of Learning Leaps, LLC, who will share insights on preparing businesses to scale.

Biz Week Pitch Competition

Small Businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers will compete live for a monetary award in front of a panel of procurement experts and community leaders. The competition is presented in collaboration with EPICenter, supporting innovative businesses and emerging developers across the region.

Keynote Luncheon

The week concludes with a celebratory luncheon announcing the pitch competition winners and recognizing partners and sponsors. The keynote address will be delivered by Courtney McNeal, COO of Innovate Memphis and small business owner. The luncheon will take place at Varsity Spirit.

“This week reflects the spirit of the Memphis Medical District: Built by Community. Driven by Vision,” says Rhonda Brown. “Biz Week is about creating opportunities and connecting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers who help shape Memphis’ economy and its future. When we invest in and support our small businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers, we strengthen the communities where we live, work, learn, and grow.”
