Take part in the first ever half marathon to cross over to Arkansas from Memphis.

Peer Power Foundation has just announced the date for the inaugural Big River Crossing Half Marathon and 5K. On October 21st, runners will be allowed to cross the Arkansas-Tennessee state line at the Big River Bridge for the first time.

Both races will start at Tom Lee Park  with the 5K starting at 8 am and the half marathon starting at 8:30 am. Both courses make their way through Downtown Memphis. However, only the runners of the half marathon cross into Arkansas. They will also make their way through the 7-mile Big River Trail located in the flood plains.

Proceeds will benefit the Peer Power Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that recruits and trains students displaying excellence to be able to tutor their peers, encourage active learning, and to value education.

Tickets are $25 for the 5K and $90 for the Half Marathon. Prices will increase on September 30th. See the route map here.
