Looking for a new and fun hobby for the summer? Belltower Artisans is offering pop-up pottery classes and a pop up coffee shop at Minglewood Hall from May 5th to August 15th.
Belltower Artisans will hold weeklong pottery classes along with a pop up coffee shop in Minglewood Hall. They will offer day classes from 1-4pm and night classes from 6-9pm to accommodate anyone interested in learning the ins and outs of pottery. Classes will cost $200 per person and master classes are $250 per person for 15 hours across 5 days. The variety of classes offered are made for those who are beginners in pottery and also those who have experience. From kids to adults there is a place for everyone at the studio.
Belltower Artisans was co-founded by Memphis natives, Micah Dempsey and Christopher Galbreath who now attend Lipscomb University. The two have been friends since high school when they attended Harding Academy where they took a ceramics class all four years. Through their interest in pottery this is where they decided to become business partners, thus creating Belltower Artisans. Ever since they started at Lipscomb this past fall, their business has taken off on campus and in the Nashville area which inspired them to come back to Memphis for the summer to offer these pop-up classes.
“We’ll also be hosting a weekly open mic night as we try to foster a communal environment. We really want our space to be about more than just our business. If there’s any way that we can open our space to the public for various events, we want to make it happen.” – Christopher Galbreath, co-founder of Belltower Artisans
Their coffee shop will be open Monday through Saturday from 9:30am-11pm. It will be a full service coffee bar and all the mugs they serve out to customers will be handmade by Christopher, Micah and their interns. Their mugs and other ceramics will also be for sale in house this summer.
