Bark Park Grand Opening

What’s a better way to spend a Saturday than hanging out at the new dog park with your furry friends? Overton Bark is having their Grand Opening event (sponsored by Hollywood Feed) on Saturday June 2nd.  The kickoff event, sponsored by YoLo, will start off with a 1-mile fun walk/dog parade, followed by a “leash-cutting.” Then memphians and their dogs will be welcomed into the celebration at the new dog park, featuring several local bands, food, free yogurt from YoLo (for registered participants), contests, prizes and more.

Schedule

8:00 am – Registration for the 1-mile fun walk/dog parade (Overton Square)
9:00 – 9:45 am – 1-mile fun walk/dog parade
10:00 am – Welcome and comments by Memphis Mayor A C Wharton and others
10:20 am – Leash-cutting, live music from Wuvbirds, Side Street Steppers, Walrus and The Theoretical Monkeys; food truck rodeo; and more.
2:00 pm – End of event

Cost

Festival admission free. 1-mile fun walk/dog parade is $15 in advance and $20 day-of. It includes an event T-shirt, YoLo froyo and hot dogs. 10 x 10′ vendor space is $50. All proceeds will go to benefit The Streetdog Foundation and the Overton Park Conservancy.
