“I AM”, four original works inspired by civil rights as well as human struggles, will be open to the public at Ballet Memphis on February 20 at Playhouse on the Square.
Each piece of work crafted by the choreographers was based off of the themes, “I Am A Child” by Julia Adam, “I Am A Man” by Reggie Wilson, “I Am A Woman” by Gabrielle Lamb, and “I Am” by Steven McMahon, all touch on gender and race issues as well as the loss and gain of something. There is emotion evoked from the performances and beauty in the craft of the ballet that will be seen throughout the audience.

Also on February 20 at 6:30, Ballet Memphis will be collaborating with Crosstown Arts for a Free Spark Conversation at 6:30 pm at Theatre Café of Playhouse on the Square. This event will host conversations from the “I Am” choreographers about the behind the scenes process of the making of the show. This event is free and open to the public.
