On Friday, October 2, Paint Memphis is collaborating with Food Drank Culture hosting the first annual Art Bazaar! Yes, that’s right, an actual in person event. Do you remember those?!
The Art Bazaar will feature more than 25 artists alongside live music and DJs. Tickets are $10 at the door with the option to upgrade to a $20 ticket for an open bar. Masks will be enforced and booths will be socially distanced. While we are still in a pandemic, a virtual event wouldn’t have done the Art Bazaar justice as a whole, according to to the director, David Yancy.
“In a time of political and pandemic caused unrest, hostility and unjust, the Art Bazaar is a time and place for expression as well as connection. Many artists took a hit during COVID and this is a chance to bring support to the art community. Having a full event during times of COVID is a major leap of faith—a leap we felt is worth taking.”
The booths will offer art in forms of graphic design, paint, photography, clothing, music production and many other art mediums from local creators. There will also be merchandise available, with proceeds going to support the Memphis art scene.
Come out this Friday night to see artists express their energy and emotions through art during a restless time. Enjoy a drink, support local art and pick up a cool T-shirt on your way out. Leave inspired by the art you’ll see and the people you’ll meet! Stay tuned, Paint Memphis has even more in store in October…
