A Daily Guide For Food in Memphis

LET's WALK YOU THROUGH BREakfast, Lunch, and dinner. (Even a little late night bite)

Good People! What’s going on? So, let me guess, you’re hungry and looking to plan out your food for the day? Well, listen, you’re reading the right article. And not only are we going to get you right for just one meal but all 3. Yes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we are even going to give you a few spots for a little late night snack.

The most important meal of the day. Or at least that is what people say. Either way, we have to start the day right. So, here’s our 3 favorite options to get the day started right.

Memphis Toast

Now, Memphis Toast is a newcomer on the block, but they are already coming out the gate swinging. Located pretty close to our office in the Crosstown area, it’s become a frequent stop for us. You can dine in or take it to-go, but it’s a good way to get started early in the AM.

Recommendation: Bond’s Classic with All Chicken Sausage (No Bacon) And  Scrambled Eggs

A plate of fried catfish fillets with garlic bread and a side of baked macaroni and cheese garnished with herbs. Another plate of fried food is visible in the background, making this meal an unexpected highlight alongside any Ultimate Guide to Frozen Treats in Memphis.

Located in Whitehaven, Eggxactly is one of the Go-Tos. Very down to earth, and easy going, we would definitely recommend sitting in and kicking back enjoying the breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth the drive out early in the morning.

Recommendation: Build Your Own Breakfast Bowl with Turkey Sausage, Potato Hash, Scrambled Eggs with Shredded Cheddar, add 1pc Catfish (trust us on the catfish)

Brother Juniper’s

A white building with green window frames and a sign that reads "BROTHER JUNIPERS" is shown. A green lawn and a gravel path stretch out in the foreground, while a billboard highlighting the Ultimate Guide to Frozen Treats in Memphis stands proudly in the background.

Really one of the OG’s in the breakfast game. I mean it’s been here and it continues to be at the top of its game. Located by the University of Memphis, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I mean you will see any and everybody here and honestly, dealing with Brother Juniper’s, you might not need another meal during the day.

Recommendation: 4 Cheese Omelet, Home Fries, Biscuit and split the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes with one of your friends (or by yourself but definitely get them)

As a regular stomping ground for the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Arcade Restaurant is a Memphis mainstay. They’ve got tasty brunch, lunch, and dinner options. And for dessert, they serve ice cream and boozy milkshakes to keep the party rocking!

Lunch doesn’t have a really cool statement like the most important of the day. But it can turn a bad day into a good one, or the reverse if the lunch isn’t hitting. So, let’s make sure your lunch break is a good one, yeah?

South Point Grocery

“I know they ain’t trying to send me to a grocery store for lunch”.

Listen if you want to miss out on one of the best sandwiches in Memphis, then hey that’s on you but this is the perfect spot for midday hunger. Grab you a cold drink from the fridge section, a bag of rap snacks and the Me Spinach sandwich from the deli and thank us later.

Recommendation: Me Spinach (Extra Onion)

Cozy Corner BBQ

Now this is a classic, and honestly one of the perfect spots for you to get lunch. Some of the office has to drive past in the morning and the windows are rolled down just to get a sniff of how amazing the BBQ smells. The perfect spot for lunch, get you a real taste of the M. Usually we are grabbing it to-go as it’s always full and it’s our lunch break, but this is one of the best spots to go!

Recommendation: 3 Wings Wet with Slaw and Potato Salad

The Fish Net

So, Fish Net on lamar. A hidden gem within the city of Memphis, I’ll be honest. You might not have heard much about it, but trust and believe what you have heard has been about how fire this spot is. If you’ve ever had a fish fry at a family gathering, that’s how it makes you feel, from the crinkle cut fries to the white bread. Grab it to-go and hope you don’t catch the itis at your desk.

Recommendation: 3 Pc Catfish Steak, Add a side of coleslaw

DINNER

After a long day, you just want a good meal. Something that takes you to bed feeling full and happy.

Good Fortune Co

We really don’t have to say much about Good Fortune, I mean Guy Fieri’s been there. So… There’s not too much to say after that. Easy spot to sit in solo at the bar or with a group of friends. Either way, amazing vibes, great staff and not to mention a soundtrack that varies from 90s R&B to current trap rap or some of your favorite pop legends. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu honestly.

Recommendation: GFC Wings and a Chicken Rice Bowl

JEM Dining

A chef in a dark uniform and an apron garnishing multiple plates of food in a dimly lit restaurant kitchen with colorful decor in the background, reminiscent of the vibrant eateries mentioned in the Ultimate Guide to Frozen Treats in Memphis.

One of the newest spots here in Memphis, just opened and it’s already a great place to have on our day in the dining list. Chef Joshua has worked in top dining all around the U.S. but has found a way to still provide the southern comfort feeling and combine it with that fine dining aura. Seriously, they’ve found a way to make the double cheeseburger sound like it’s going to win Top Chef. It’s an atmosphere that’s hard to get but has accomplished it perfectly.

Recommendation: Matzo Ball Stuffed Chicken

Ronnie Grisanti’s

Randomly stopped here one night, and it has truly become a favorite. Now for some, it might be a little further out but the food is well worth it. Felt like a little slice of Italy brought to Memphis, the mood lighting and all, made me feel like I was starring in some romantic comedy. Maybe a little more dressy, but like I said romantic comedy, so don’t overthink it. Either way, the food is too good for you not to make this a stop for dinner.

Recommendation: Pollo Al Parmigiano

Late night bite

Yes, we know we shouldn’t be, but we are. What can we say? Sometimes you want a late night bite.

Dixie Queen

A cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and a side of crinkle-cut fries on a tray beside a Dixie Queen cup with a straw. Ketchup and salt shakers are in the background, reminiscent of the cozy spots you’ll find in the *Ultimate Guide to Frozen Treats in Memphis*.

If you really are from the 901, you know this is the go-to late night bite. Now, even if you feel bad, by the time you get through the line, you’re gonna be hungry and you deserve whatever you’re gonna order. But, the wait is well worth it, it tastes like Memphis. That’s the best way to describe it, and it’s open 24 hours, so even if it’s 3AM, trust me you won’t be the only one in line.

Recommendation: Double Cheeseburger Meal (Everything, and extra grilled onions), Seasoned Fries, Lemonade
