5th Annual BristerFest Brings Music and Art to Overton Square this Weekend

To benefit Grow Memphis

For the first time ever, Memphians will be able to experience Bristerfest for free. This is the fifth year that Bristerfest, a grassroots Memphis music and cultural festival, will return. This year it will take place on Saturday, October 10th at Overton Square’s Tower Courtyard from 11am-6pm for one day of music and art.

Attendees are encouraged to donate what they can and purchase beer to support GrowMemphis, a local organization dedicated to building and supporting urban community gardens and ensuring that all Memphians have access to fresh, healthy food. Since 2012, Bristerfest has raised over $4,000 for Grow Memphis. The lineup features 7 musical acts, including performances by: Chinese Connection Dub Embassy, School of Rock Germantown, Zigadoo Moneyclips, The Incredible Hook, Suavo J. & 88 Bones, The Three Kings and Memfizz.

“We’re really excited to bring Bristerfest to the Overton Square Tower Courtyard this year,” said BristerFest founder Jack Simon. “Thanks to our sponsors, the festival is free to the public this year, for the first time ever. We have an awesome music lineup and Trimble street will be lined with artists and vendors. It’s going to be a fun, family friendly day of live Memphis music and art to support the community!”

In addition to the music, vendors will line Trimble Street for one day to create a unique marketplace for arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing and other items.
