5 Ways to Get “RiverFit” This Week

RiverFit, the popup exercise track at Tom Lee Park downtown, is full of opportunities to enjoy the view of the mighty Mississippi from the bluff, go for a run, or just people watch. Regardless of why, there are a lot of reasons to go by this week and check it out. It’s only scheduled to be there for a limited time, so you better take the opportunity while you can! Here are just some of the ways you can enjoy the popup fitness trail:

  • Sandlot Baseball:
It’s Downtown vs. Midtown in this neighborhood showdown. The series is tied at 1 game each! Come join the game, or just watch on Sunday, October 19th at 2pm. It’s the weekend before the World Series starts, so it’s the perfect chance to get excited about America’s Pastime. Also, Sache is screen printing from their truck at the park, and Food Tricks will be available during and after the game. More info here.
  • Rowing with Rhodes:
The college’s crew team (that’s what they call rowing) will lead a fitness challenge on land featuring rowing. We’re not talking about the british word for fighting… we’re talking sitting and pulling oars until you can’t anymore. It’s Saturdays at 10 am. Make sure you’re in workout gear and closed-toe shoes!
  • Grizzlies Challenge:
A family-friendly event to get people of all ages involved in completing the RiverFit Trail Passport. Complete all six stations and you could just win an autographed jersey or tickets to the opening game of the regular season. It’s Tuesday, October 21 from 5-6 pm.
  • Social Media Contest:
If snapping the perfect shot is more your speed than swinging from the monkey bars, this is the perfect way to get involved. Take a great picture or video, post it on social media, hashtag it #GetRiverFit. If they really like it you could win prizes like T-shirts, Grizz gear (sunglasses, sweat bands, etc.), or even tickets to the final preseason game!
  • Boot Camp on the Bluff:
If you’re excited about making your weekly workouts happen on the RiverFit Trail, then check in with one of the trainers below. They’re all hosting boot camps to challenge you into enjoying all Tom Lee Park has to offer.
